Some parents may send their child to purchase tobacco products for them. Some minors even have a note from the parent saying that it is OK to make the sale

But state laws are clear on this subject. Under no circumstances are you permitted to sell tobacco to a minor!

If a minor attempts to purchase tobacco for an adult, try using the following phrases:

"I'm sorry, it's against the law."

"I can be fined and even lose my job."

"Your mother or father must come in to buy this."

Remember, be polite. The words and tone you use will most likely be repeated to the parent.
